Oneness was the state of union with the Force. In some select circumstances living individuals managed to become an extension of the Force/Becoming One with their respective side–though this also sometimes opened one up to severe temptation to the Dark Side if they were not already a darksider.

But all traditions agree that life creates the Force and makes it grow. Individuals’ Force potential depends on their levels of midi-chlorians, microscopic life-forms found within living cells. The Jedi believed midi-chlorians communicated the will of the Force, which could be understood through meditation.

Can anyone be taught to use the Force?

The short answer here is yes, non-Jedis can, and do, use the Force. When Obi-Wan Kenobi first introduces Luke to the Force in Episode IV, he describes the Force as “an energy field created by all living things.” The Force, then, is always present, whether Jedi are there or not.

Why did Qui-Gon not become one with the Force?

Qui-Gon was the first Jedi to unlock the path to becoming one with the Force. He was killed by Darth Maul before his studies were complete, so for a time, he could only return as a disembodied voice. Since he turned back to the light side before his death, he was eligible.

How strong is Darth caedus?

Can Jedi speak through the Force?

Every Force user, Jedi or Sith, was potentially able to use this ability. The range of telepathy itself is theoretically infinite, but the telepath must be able to sense the presences of those they wish to contact. This form of basic telepathy was more commonly known as Force empathy.
