Can you take calculus before geometry?

Can you take calculus before geometry?

In some sense, the prerequisite for Calculus is to have an overall comfort with algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. After all, each new topic in math builds on previous topics, which is why mastery at each stage is so important.

Is trig harder than pre calc?

Precalculus encompasses both trig and math analysis; therefore a precalculus course will cover more topics than just a trigonometry course alone. Why is precalculus hard? Now, most students agree that math analysis is “easier” than trigonometry, simply because it’s familiar (i.e., it’s very similar to algebra).

Is calculus harder than trig?

Calculus is harder than trigonometry. Because most of the trigonometry is used in calculus.

Do you need to take pre calc before calculus?

You probably don’t need to take an actual precalculus course. Here’s what I tell my students in our regular calculus course that they need as background: You need to know a fair amount of mathematics before embarking on a study of calculus. You probably don’t need to take an actual precalculus course.

Should I skip pre calc?

you can def skip trig/precalc and go straight to calc. as long as you can use a unit circle, you should be fine with the trig. precalc spends weeks on the first thing you learn in calc1, so it’s pretty much a big waste of time.

Should I take Pre-Calculus or trigonometry?

Usually a Pre-Calculus course will cover the required Trigonometry needed for Calculus. So if you just have to take one or the other, I would recommend the Pre-Calculus course because it will strengthen your algebra which is what most people that I have helped in calculus have problems with.

What is the difference between Pre-Calculus and Calculus AB and BC?

Pre-calculus is a prerequisite for both types of calculus. Calculus AB covers the first semester of calculus only (Calculus I) Calculus BC covers the first two semesters or a whole year of calculus (Calculus I and II courses combined) All of the topics covered in Calculus AB are also found in BC
