Once you have joined the Naval Service, you are required to stay clear of drugs or substances always and to avoid association with drug or substance misuse and suppliers. Once you have been enlisted, you will be liable by law to random compulsory drug testing throughout your Service career.
Does the Navy require a drug test?
Yes, they have random drug screenings daily. A large percentage of Navy personnel are randomly selected to provide a urine sample under supervision of an E5 or higher. They do test for pot and many other drug. Drug tests are completely random, if you are not using you have nothing to worry about.
All active duty military servicemembers submit a urine sample for drug testing at least once a year. These drug tests screen for the presence of marijuana, amphetamines, and cocaine. In some cases, the urinalysis will screen for the presence of other drugs, including steroids, morphine, heroin, barbiturates, and LSD.

The results for negative specimens are typically released within 3 business days and positive results are typically released within five business days from when they are accessioned at the laboratory.
